Confidence

Confidence...
So I’m sitting here thinking about confidence. I was picturing myself getting out of a car and attempting to walk cute towards a guy without walking like my feet hurt in my heels. You know that walk.  LOL. I compared the way I see a woman on the T.V or in movies how they get out of the car and just stops traffic and I thought, how in the world do women do that? When they walk not only do they turn heads but their presence commands attention. That’s when I thought about this must be what confidence looks like sprinkled with grace.
We all know that woman who is confident yet arrogant with it. But man oh man that woman with confidence and graceful with it… There’s nothing like it in the world. She’s broken yet possesses a strength that allow her to keep going. She’s afraid yet stands in the face of fear with the passion and determination of the woman with the issue of blood. She’s awesome. So I kept thinking… When a woman possesses a certain nature, it comes natural to her. I also believe that although it comes natural to her some things, in order for it to be perfected and used to its fullest potential, it has to be groomed or simpler put, it takes practice.
So I realized that I too possess that innate gift of confidence. Then even better, not just I, but we all have that gift; it just has to be groomed and continuously perfected as we grow and mature. I love to see another confident woman presenting her gift with grace. Confidence comes in all forms but in it’s best form, it comes from within… so we don’t have to imitate another woman but we can ask God to help us to express our inner gifts with grace. Because when we express that gift, it will attract all the amazing things and people you need in your life… and for those things that it attract that aren’t good for us, that confident woman will know her worth and won’t allow that thing to come in and dim her light in any way… know your worth. There’s only one you. Take a look at who that person is and learn, love, protect, admire, cherish and value her…
When you master your innate gift of confidence, use it to build not only yourself but others also.

Intervention

Intervention...   I am reminded of the movie Frankie and Alice. I said that I was going to go back and watch that movie. Because Frankie has a personality disorder. Frankie had Alice, Frankie (herself) and Genius to deal with. Frankie was trying to cope with life the best way that she knew how to do so. In her regular self, Frankie was an exotic dancer and did things that comes with that lifestyle. Alice was a person Frankie had tucked away from her past and it was almost like she didn’t exist. Alice was determined to make Frankie pay for what she had done to her at such a young age. Frankie knew the events had taken place but back in that time and even still in her present time, there were many things that were left unsaid. So Frankie accepted her reality but never let the memories go. This was a place she would visit every so often but instead of her prompting the memories the memories would be triggered by a song, vision, an event or person that closely resembled anyth...

You Can't Stop...

Last night at WNBS I just began to write this message below. Although I know this word was for me, I wanted to share it with you also, just in case you needed to hear it also… …Somewhere you have gotten tired or have grown weary with the gift God has given you. I need you to ask God to renew your strength and to revive your spirit. The gift that lies within you is not for you, but for others. You have been trusted with this gift. You have been equipped with this gift. You hold something that someone needs. I know that you are tired. I know that you feel misused, often abused and at times unappreciated. I know that you feel that you can’t give anymore of you. I know that you feel like “God, how can I give out when I am in need”? Please know that as you give, He will give to you. As you bless His house, automatically, He will bless your house. Remember that what He has given you, He knows just how much you can bare before it runs low on fuel. It’s funny that the gifts we are bless...

Leave It...

“What did you do with all your books?” “I left everything in there. I didn’t want to bring anything from there, here.”   This was a question I asked a friend who was recently released from prison. Funny this piece of our conversation came to mind this morning. You’re getting ready to move from one place to another yet you look at your current space you’ve been residing for so long. You’ve collected so much stuff over the years. Stuff that at one point you needed and held onto so desperately and dared anyone take it from you. Some that fed you. Some that depleted you. Some that distracted you. Some that strengthened you. Some things you look at and ask why or where did this come from. Letters, notes, pictures, little nick knacks are everywhere. All this stuff surrounding a current space you’re about to leave for good. What are you going to do with the collection? Do you take it with you or do you leave it all there? Opening your bag, setting it on the bed you laid your head...
